2020 Sexual Harassment

Course Description

This presentation is designed to provide providers with basic information about what conduct constitutes sexual harassment in the workplace, how complaints and investigations are properly handled, how employees bring claims under federal and state law for sexual harassment, and how to implement and follow effective sexual harassment policies. The duties and responsibilities of both medical practice owners and employers are discussed, with emphasis on preventing sexual harassment investigation, and resolution of complaints.

Faculty

June Baker Laird, Esq.

June Baker Laird, Esq. is a Partner in the Colorado office of McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP. She graduated in 1989 from the University of Oklahoma College of Law with honors. June is a trial lawyer who defends lawyers and healthcare providers. She has practiced in Colorado since 1991, after initially practicing for a year in Oklahoma and then a year in Florida. June joined the firm's Colorado office in 2000. She defends lawyers and healthcare providers against professional malpractice claims at trials and arbitrations, bringing dozens of cases to defense verdict for her clients. June also represents lawyers on disciplinary matters before the Office of Attorney Regulation, and healthcare providers before their licensing boards. June is a member of the Colorado and Florida Bar Associations, the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association, and Colorado's Federal Faculty of
